Sealants made from this material can withstand pressures between 100 and 250 bar and temperatures ranging from -250°C to +550°C. For applications exceeding 450°C, it is recommended to consult with our product specialists to determine the most suitable option in each case.
Expanded graphite and stainless steel sheets can include a flat core, spiked core or an "expanded" structure in AISI 316L, offering a safe and cost-effective sealing solution depending on the application.
One of the key advantages of this material is its resistance to corrosion, which is determined by the purity of the graphite and its oxidation properties. Less mass loss during oxidation translates into greater elasticity and a more reliable seal.
For easy handling and installation, graphite sheets are often impregnated with a non-stick coating. The latest technology in graphite sealing materials incorporates XP non-stick technology, which reduces downtime by preventing gaskets from sticking to flanges. This allows for efficient gasket replacement and minimises the risk of leaks as they are installed on clean, flat flange surfaces.
