Following the removal of asbestos, the development of synthetic fibre sheets has advanced significantly. Today, they are combined with graphite, fibreglass, various types of rubber and other synthetic fibres to create strong yet flexible sealing solutions. These sheets offer great versatility and are used in sectors such as manufacturing (OEM), chemical, petrochemical and oil and gas. In addition to their chemical resistance, they have a non-stick coating that makes them easy to remove after use without sticking to the flange. They are available in standard DIN and ANSI sizes.
Depending on the type of material used, these sheets can have various certifications and approvals, such as DIN-DVGW, BS 7531 Grade X or Y, Firesafe according to BS5146, BAM for oxygen applications, KTW, SVGW, TA-Luft, FDA, WRAS or Germanischer Lloyd.
For applications requiring a metal reinforcing inner ring (Bördelring), they can be certified to UVV61, a key specification for improved explosion safety in gas sealants.
